If you are interested in hosting a workshop at your facility, it's really easy to get started!
Please contact me via email indicating your interest in being a host site for a workshop. I usually provide a full-day workshop and a half-day workshop to give you the most "bang for the buck" for my travel to your city.
My full-day workshop, Step Junkie's Secrets for Teaching Step, is a comprehensive 8-hour workshop where we discuss every aspect of teaching a professional-level Step class. Generally this workshop is held on a Saturday.
Then, you can choose from one of my half-day workshops, Step Junkie's Time-Saving Secrets, or Break It Down Like a Pro. This 4-hour workshop is generally held on the Sunday after the full-day workshop.
If you want, I will teach a master class after the Sunday workshop concludes. This is where we see how everything we discussed over the weekend all comes together in a fun, energetic, and sweaty class! The master class can be limited to workshop participants, or open to anyone who wants to come, depending on the size of your aerobics studio and the number of Steps available.
What does the host gym provide?
The host gym provides me with an aerobics studio, a stereo system with microphone, and enough Steps for all participants.
My contact person at the host gym, typically the Group Fitness Director or Coordinator, will help me spread the word about the workshop by emailing out a flyer that I provide or posting it around town at other fitness centers, rec centers, etc.; and by annoucing the workshop to gym instructors, and encouraging them to spread the word to any instructors at other gyms who might be interested in attending.
How do payments work?
If the gym wants to host a workshop for its own instructors only, then the gym and I will work out a suitable fee to cover a minimum number of participants.
However, if the gym is open to allowing instructors from other gyms to attend the workshop, then all of my fees are paid through registrations from individuals coming to the workshop. Simple! I provide an Early Bird rate to enable registrants to get a discounted rate if they sign up early.
